I gave my beautiful little dog a bath this afternoon. Misty is sixteen and a half and still very sprightly for her age. And still very capable of giving me an insulted, hard done by doggy look!! Not so much from the bath, although she doesn’t really like that either but definitely from being brushed afterwards. She hates it!! I also have to give her a trim because she has long hair that gets knotty.
I would think after sixteen years she would be used to being brushed but nope – its trauma every time!! I have a lot of leaves and blossom that has come off my fruit tree out the back and Misty picks it up in her hair. So it is a matter of cutting her hair a bit to give her some distance from the ground. She’s like her human mum, too close to the ground!! But it’s like trying to trim and brush a moving target.
In summer she gets a really short trim because she feels the heat so much. I usually get my friend to help me with that because it’s too big a job. I hold and my friend normally does the trimming. She feels so different when she’s had a really close haircut and looks like a puppy. It’s not exactly a top job haircut but it does the job of keeping her cooler. She’s a gorgeous little dog and I wish I could have captured that sulky expression that was on her face when I was brushing her just now and trimming her hair. It gave me a laugh, even if she wasn’t impressed!!

I like the second photo with one ear and and one ear down; made me laugh.
I meant to say one ear up
She's always had one ear up and one ear down. LOL It looks quite funny. She's as deaf as a doornail now though whereas once that one ear was like a little antenae!! Didn't miss anything. LOL
What a very pretty dog!
She is gorgeous but then I'm biased. LOL She's particularly pretty when she's had a bath because her coat is a real honey colour. If she'd let me brush her properly that is. LOL
She's not gorgeous, Kazza. hehehehe!! My Ally dawg is more gorgeous hehehehe!!
Says who Rosymosie!! hehehe Your girl is gorgeous too so we'll have to say it's an even draw. LOL How's that for diplomacy???
